SIBUR is the largest integrated petrochemicals company in Russia. BIAXPLEN LTD – a subsidiary company of SIBUR Holding is a leading biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film producer in Russia. The Company operates five production facilities. In 2019 BIAXPLEN set up a JV with European BOPP film producer Manucor S.p.A. BIAXPLEN and Manucor share their best practices in terms of R&D, sales and marketing, production, and technical support and BIAXPLEN gets new opportunities in the European markets.
BIAXPLEN's plants produce more than 40 types of BOPP-films used in the production of flexible packaging for food and non-food products. Development of a circular economy and involvement of polymer waste in recycling are important elements of SIBUR's ESG strategy. The company is investing both in research and development activities and in launching new facilities to recycle plastic waste back into the production cycle. The innovative Vivilen rPET material developed by SIBUR, a high-quality polymer with recycled plastic (~30%), is a ready-made environmentally friendly solution for manufacturers of goods and packaging that meets all regulatory requirements.
