The Omsk region is the westernmost region of modern Siberia, stretching from south to north, rich in natural and cultural riches. The administrative center is Omsk, a city of two fortresses, whose history is inextricably linked with the great territorial conquests in the East by the Russian Empire. This is a city with an unusual history: many-sided and original, it changed statuses and regalia, increasing its strategic importance throughout the continent: from the center of the West Siberian General Government, and later the Steppe Territory, to the most powerful economic center of the late XIX - early XX centuries. , where eminent merchant dynasties rushed, from the Third Capital of Russia to the cultural capital of modern Siberia. The status of the cultural capital of Siberia in Omsk is not unreasonable at all: in the region there are 7 state and 33 municipal museums, 10 professional theaters and about 500 amateur ones.
