Omsk region is the westernmost region of modern Siberia, stretching from south to north, saturated with natural and cultural riches. There are 10 cultural heritage sites of federal significance in the Omsk region, the oldest city in the Siberian Federal District is the city of Tara, many centers of archeology and paleontology, the best and largest theaters and museums in Siberia.
The administrative center is Omsk, a city of two fortresses, whose history is inextricably linked with the great territorial conquests in the East by the Russian Empire. This is a city with an unusual history: diverse and original, it changed statuses and regalia, increasing its strategic importance throughout the continent: from the center of the West Siberian General Government, and subsequently the Steppe Region, to the most powerful economic center of the late XIX - early XX centuries, where famous merchant dynasties rushed, from the Third Capital of Russia to the cultural capital of modern Siberia. Omsk has the status of the cultural capital of Siberia for good reason: there are 7 state and 33 municipal museums in the region, 10 professional theaters and about 500 amateur ones.
Thanks to the concept of the "Region of 55 Impressions", festivals, large-scale celebrations, and historical reconstructions will be held in the Omsk region every weekend from May to August. In a word - a sea of new emotions and a unique experience!
Take a trip from the endless steppes to the real taiga and feel Siberia!
